Iraqi Insurgents Hack Into US Drones

Good Grief!

WSJ is reporting that the “enemy” is intercepting live video feeds from US drone planes using a $26 off-the-shelf software.

First, this is really stupid. If the Iraqi’s figured this out - any teen geek can figure it out. And now that it has been splattered all over the news streams, you can bet the kids are already downloading pirated copies of the software. No need to shell out the cash.

I sincerely hope the US military is smarter than that. If not, we are ALL in trouble.

Consider the enemy…if you had your brain switched on, wouldn’t you allow them to believe they have intercepted live video? Is the US military so stupid as to use an unencrypted “live” feed to monitor military operations?

Once again, this sounds much more like media spewing this WAY out of proportion. I don’t claim to have military experience of any sort…but I’ve had enough of the over-dramatization of EVERYTHING!

If this were a serious threat, don’t you think we’d be seeing a press conference from the white house? The TV reports don’t even have any interview from a government official.

So, how serious is this “threat”?
