From PC to Mac

I have to tell you I am REALLY enjoying my Macbook now that I’ve received one without a green vertical line in the display. I’ve heard of that happening on 17-inch models - which mine is NOT.

What do I love about my new Mac? Everything works. Everything is intuitive.
I am ALL about intuitive…and things working.

It’s amazing to me that I am using the same internet connection, the same wireless router, everything is the same except for the laptop.

I haven’t once lost my wireless connection. By now, the PC would have lost the connection, arrogantly alerted me that it once again made a connection, then sit back and pat itself on the back for a few minutes - until it lost the connection again. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.

And something amazing happened, the battery lasted for more than 2 hours. Isn’t that the way a MOBILE computer should work? Now I can go places with my laptop and not worry about sitting close to an electrical outlet - IF I can find one. (Ever notice how they put them in corners and places that make you look VERY anti-social? Like a little geeky professor over in the corner, hunched over that dimly lit display, scheming on how he/she can take over in Facebook Mafia Wars using that over-heralded PC)

Haven’t tried it yet, but I might even come close to working an entire day without juicing up. I challenge ANYONE to show me that on a Windows laptop.

OK, so I’ve decided to change a couple of acronyms. You see, I can do that because I’ve been around the computing world long enough to know DOS (in my sleep), I know what “spaghetti code” is, I was once really good at creating graphics using ANSI codes, and I’ve come and gone (and back again) on the Mac trail.

In other words, well - I have no idea what that makes me - perhaps more geeky than I’d like. But what I’m really trying to say is…”I’m addicted to gambling”.

Anyway, what I’m really trying to say is that I’ve been computing long enough to know a thing or two about computers and computing. I had an IBM PCjr for goodness sake!

SO, everything is circular - baaaacck to the point.

My new acronyms: PC = “piece of crap” (yeah, see Microsoft didn’t even get the acronym right.)
MAC = “most awesome computer”.

Wow, I’m actually feeling creative and productive again now that I don’t have to wait 5 minutes for a command to be completed, restart because something simply flaked out, or manipulate my mail program to ignore la la land messages.

God is good.
